The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) was founded in 1995 as
a specialist national group within the Horticultural Trades Association
(HTA) and now represents the UK’s best individual landscape
professionals and their companies. The APL provides advice, education,
research, public relations, benchmarking indexes and representation
services to its members and is the only landscaping scheme operator of TrustMark,
a Government endorsed initiative promoting professional trades people
to consumers. The APL is made up of around 180 companies who design,
construct and maintain gardens and open spaces for domestic and
commercial customers. The Association is passionate about supporting
members and helping them to provide the highest quality designed and
constructed gardens to their customers.
All APL
Registered Members undergo a rigorous annual inspection process via independent inspectors who are experienced in the landscaping industry. Registered members must also provide at least six satisfactory customer references of
completed work within the past two years, supply a minimum of two satisfactory trade references, maintain full Employer Liability Insurance cover, maintain full Public Liability Insurance cover, follow the agreed complaints resolution procedure and offer customers an independently backed warranty. In addition to this, in order to encourage continuing good performance, the Association
demands that members be committed to continuous business development and are actively involved in staff training and development.
After undergoing vetting and inspection JDC GARDENS are proud to be members of the APL as from March 2010.
